Liverpool are said to be in discussions for Atletico Madrid’s highly rated winger Angel Correa.
According to French outlet FootMercato, the Reds are hugely interested in signing the 22-year-old as Jurgen Klopp is looking to add another offensive player to his squad ahead of a very busy next season.
The report also claims that while Liverpool have offered a 5-year contract with a salary of around £2.5m to Correa who is tempted by the prospect of joining Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, he will be seeking a package of around £4m.
While Correa is valued at around £16m currently, the publication claims that a bid of around £25m could be enough for Liverpool to land their target.
Correa, who primarily is a right sided attacker but can play on either wing as well as a striker, made 45 appearances for Atletico last season (30 of them were as a substitute) and scored 8 goals and 8 assists.
The rumour is hard to believe as Liverpool have already added two offensive options this summer in the form of Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke and the Reds attack is swelling with quality players.
Moreover, Atletico are unlikely to sell any of their players this summer as the La Liga giants are unable to make any additions to their squad due to their transfer ban.
The Reds will need to focus on improving their leaky backline now with a centre-back and a left-back being two most important positions to be strengthened.
Do you think we need to bring in more offensive players this summer?
