Liverpool could be looking to switch their attention to somewhere else in case they fail to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt.
According to Melissa Reddy of Goal.com, Liverpool are considering a move for Roma winger Mohamed Salah as an alternative to the German.
The 24-year-old, who has been deployed mostly on the right side of the attack by Roma, has scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists in 40 appearances so far this season.
Salah will have 2 years remaining on his contract with Roma after this season and the former Basel star is valued at around €30m currently.
Notably, former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers also tried to sign Salah for the Reds in the past but the Egyptian eventually chose to join Chelsea instead.
Julian Brandt is said to be a prime attacking target but the German may be looking to stay with Leverkusen as there would be no guarantee of a regular spot in Liverpool’s attack next season.
Sadio Mane is the only player in our current squad who qualifies to be a world class winger and Liverpool desperately need to bring more wide players in the team this summer.
Salah has done exceptionally well for Roma and the pacy attacker will be a very good fit on the flanks for Liverpool.
