Liverpool have made it clear on several occasions that star midfielder Philippe Coutinho is not for sale at any cost, but the Spanish media have not stopped working tirelessly to link the Brazilian with Barcelona.
The Reds have reportedly offered €50m for Athletico Bilbao striker Inaki Williams.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca (via Eurosport), Jurgen Klopp is preparing the Reds for a possible Philippe Coutinho departure and the German believes that Williams is the right man for his team.
Williams has made 42 appearances for Bilbao this season and has scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists. The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the best young talents in Spain currently.
While there has been strong interest from various clubs, the Spaniard recently spoke of his strong desire to stay with Bilbao.
“I am where I want to be and that makes me very happy. I have always fought to stay with Athletic and I have no intention of leaving,” Williams told Spanish press last month.
Despite his apparent affection for the club, the player has a release clause of €50m, which is not an impossible amount in today’s scenario.
Inaki Williams, who is also said to be a target for Juventus, has good pace and dribbling skills and is also very good in the air. The Bilbao man is primarily a striker but can also play on the flanks or behind the striker.
Apart from Williams, Liverpool have been linked with a number of young strikers lately, including Ajax’s Kasper Dolberg.
Despite his huge potential, do you think Liverpool should spend such a big amount on an inexperienced player?
