Hertha Berlin are said to be interested in keeping Liverpool’s Brazilian teenager Allan Rodrigues de Souza for the next season.
Allan Rodrigues signed for Liverpool in 2015 from Internacional. The midfielder was unable to get a work permit in England and hence he has spent last two year out on loan and is currently with the Bundesliga side.
Allan, who participated in the 2017 U-20 South American Championship, has made just 9 appearances for the Berlin club this term.
Despite Allan’s minimal involvement with the team this season, Hertha’s Sporting Director Michael Preetz is keen on keeping the teenager for one more year and is planning to hold talks with Liverpool.
When asked if the Brazilian will stay with the club next season, Preetz said: “We must and will discuss this with Liverpool.”
Preetz believes that the Brazilian lost connection with the team when he left for the U-20 Championship and could have played more if he stayed.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen on bringing Allan back to Liverpool this summer but if the midfielder is still unable to get the work permit, Liverpool might have to send the talented teenager on loan once again.
Predominantly a defensive midfielder, Allan is expected to be a future star for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp will want to start working with the young Brazilian and undertake his development as soon as possible.
Do you think Allan Rodrigues is good enough to help our senior side next season?
